10. 2009 New Bioatlas product – AtlasSight DNA Stain

Finally - a safer alternative to using ethidium bromide in agarose gels. We hope the days of putting yourself or your colleagues at risk in the lab running gels are behind us:

AtlasSight DNA Stain is a nucleic acid stain which can be used as a safer alternative to the traditional ethidium bromide for detecting nucleic acids in agarose gels. It is as sensitive as ethidium bromide and can be used exactly the same way in agarose gel electrophoresis.

AtlasSight DNA Stain emits green fluorescence when bound to DNA or RNA. It has two secondary fluorescence excitation peaks (~300 nm; ~400 nm) and one strong excitation peak centered around 500 nm. The fluorescence emission is similar to ethidium bromide when bound to DNA - at ~ 540 nm.

AtlasSight DNA Stain is non-carcinogenic and according to the Ames test it causes significantly fewer mutations than ethidium bromide.

12.2008 Bioatlas enters the Estonian market – Bioatlas Eesti laborikemikaalide turul

ENG - After operating on export markets for several years, Bioatlas is finally entering the Estonian market for consumables. We take this step as for some time now we have had requests from our friends and colleagues in Estonia for testing and buying of our products. Starting from this month, we prepared a special catalog for the Estonian market, and have already received very good feedback from the first customers.

11.2008 New Bioatlas products – RT-PCR and qPCR consumables

The latest arrivals to our catalog are RT-PCR and qPCR consumables. This addition was in the plans for quite a long time, so we are very glad to have the project finish before the end of the year. Here's a short overview of the new products:

Titan H Minus M-MLV Reverse Transcriptase is a genetically modified M-MLV RT which exhibits RNA or DNA dependent DNA polymerase, but lacks ribonuclease H activity. This enzyme can synthesize a complementary DNA strand initiating from a primer using RNA or DNA templates. Removal of the RNase H activity results in an increase of full-length cDNA products. The enzyme has RNA polymerization-dependent and DNA polymerization-dependent activity but lacks ribonuclease H activity. For more information and ordering, please check here.

Titan HotTaq Probe qPCR Mix is optimized for real-time quantitative PCR assays and contains all the components necessary to perform qPCR, with the exception of template, primers, and probe. 2007 was a year of fast development and growth for Bioatlas in many ways. Our product portfolio, among other smaller introductions now includes the new Titan line of polymerases which offers our partners lower cost and longer shelf-life – something that many of our partners have asked for and our team is now much larger both in terms of our internal team as well as the number of resellers we are working with.

Looking forward into 2008, we see continuing development in the same main areas. We already have interesting new products in the development pipeline and hope to bring the first ones to you in the first quarter of the new year. Current negotiations and activities by our partnership team also show us that we will continue to increase our number of clients in 2008 at the planned pace. All of this will naturally also require us to continue increase our team – which along with our clients and reputation, is one of our main values.

12.12.2007 Bioatlas launches Atlas Antifade

We are happy to announce our next addition to the Bioatlas product lineup – Atlas Antifade.

When exposed to excitation light, all fluorescent dyes fade (photobleach). The extent of photobleaching depends on the intensity and duration of illumination. The photon output of a dye represents the average number of cycles of excitation followed by fluorescence emission that the dye undergoes before it is irreversibly photobleached.
Atlas Antifade reagent minimizes photobleaching of experimental samples. It allows the visualization of fluorophores across entire spectrum: DAPI, FITC, R6G, Cy2, Cy3, Rhodamine, TexasRed, Cy3.5, Cy5, Cy5.5 and Cy7.

Applications:
Atlas Antifade is designed for microarray experiments and confocal fluorescence microscopy protecting dyes against photobleaching over spectrum. The glycerol-containing solution is ready-to-use and recommended for most applications. Detected microarrays can be stored 1-2 weeks at +4ºC in dark.

11.12.2007 Bioatlas joins the Estonian Biotechnology Association

Bioatlas is proud to become a member of the Estonian Biotechnology Association (EBio, www.biotech.ee). EBio is a national organization for the life science industry in Estonia and is a private non-profit organization. The main objective is to improve industry conditions and to support business development among the member companies and research institutions.

EBio is represents the industry with Estonian public institutions as well as with industry groups abroad.

01.11.2007 Bioatlas adds the Titan line to its catalogue

Keeping true to the core of Bioatlas’s vision of always trying to develop and improve the service we offer to our partners, we announce the addition of the Titan product line to our catalogue. By adding the Titan line to Atlas, we offer our partners a wider choice of reagents so that they are always able to find the one suitable for their specific application. The Titan range of polymerases also offers impressive shelf-life of up to 2 years, which can be especially helpful to our distributors and OEM customers.

As always, the Bioatlas team is working on next additions already, and we hope to be able to announce them to our current and new customers shortly.

01.11.2007 Bioatlas announces 2 new OEM partnerships in Europe

We are pleased to announce that two new life science reagent distributors have chosen Bioatlas as their OEM supplier of PCR reagents. One of our new partners is a leading company in an Eastern-European country, and the other one in Western-Europe. According to our respective agreements, we do not publish the names of our OEM partners.

01.11.2007 Bioatlas will have a new partner in Finland.

By mutual agreement, Bioatlas and BMTF ended the exclusive distribution agreement for Bioatlas products in Finland. We would like to thank BMTF for their co-operation and wish them all the success in their future business. We expect to announce a new distribution agreement for Finland shortly, as the negotiations have already started.

01.07.2007 Bioatlas announces signing of a distributor agreement in Serbia with Belit

Bioatlas and Belit are glad to be able to announce that Belit has become the exclusive distributor of Bioatlas branded PCR reagents in Serbia. Bioatlas sees South-East Europe as one of its key markets and we expect to announce new partnerships in the region in the next few months. 21.05.2007 Bioatlas announces the rearrangements in quantities of enzyme units in catalogue for purchase orders

Responding to feedback from our customers and reselling partners, we have decided to optimize the quantities of enzyme units in our catalogue. We are very glad to introduce our new catalogue to our current and new partners. The catalogue is a result of a long process of development and hard work from Bioatlas team.

We have extended our selection of PCR reagents, so our customers are able to find a whole range of products from a single source.  We have added a number of ready-to-use PCR mixes, a new Pfu enzyme, as well as other PCR reagents to the portfolio.
