Applications: Source: Recombinant E. coli strain with cloned gene encoding Thermus aquaticus DNA polymerase. Description: Atlas Taq DNA Polymerase (Figure 1) catalyzes 5´ to 3´ synthesis of DNA. The enzyme has been proved not having the 3´ to 5´ exonuclease activity. The enzyme has proven to have high amplification yield, be stable at high temperature.
Figure 1. Amplification of 420 bp target DNA using Atlas Taq DNA Polymerase. Unit definition: One unit of the enzyme catalyzes the incorporation of 10 nanomoles of deoxyribonucleotides into a polynucleotide fraction in 30 min at 70°C. Quality control: Free of detectable, non-specific nucleases. Storage conditions: 20 mM Tris-HCl (pH 8.0), 1 mM DTT, 0.1 mM EDTA, 100 mM KCl, 0.5% Nonidet P40, 0.5% Tween 20 and 50% glycerol. Store at -20°C. Guaranteed stable for 6 months when properly stored. Concentration: 5 units/µl
