Application:
PBS (Phosphate Buffered Saline) has many uses because it is isotonic and non-toxic to cells. PBS can be used in:

- cell culture,
- washing procedures,
- dilution,
- reference solution.

Description:
PBS is a nutrient, transportation or dilution liquid for maintenance of the intra- and extracellular osmotic balance. It provides cells with water and inorganic ions, which are necessary for the cell metabolism. PBS is also a buffering system for cells outside of a nutrient medium and stabilises cells during subculture.

Additives can be used to add function. PBS with EDTA is also used to disengage attached and clumped cells.

pH: 6.5 – 7.0

Storage conditions: +15 to +25 °C

Thawing: Solution can either be thawed in a 37°C water bath or in refrigerator overnight at 2-8°C.
